shall be discussing milk. Yes, Milk and all you need to know about it.
Have you ever imagined if the fat and slim people have
their own type of milk? Or, anyone despite the body size can go for anyone on
the shelf.
MILK is a white creamy liquid produced by the
mammary gland of mammals. It’s the primary source of nutrition for infants
before they are able to digest other types of food.
MILK contains about 88% H2O, 5% carbohydrate
called Lactose, 3-4% Protein called Casein, 3-4% of milk fat.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF MILK
- Calcium: Build healthy bones and teeth, maintains bone mass.
- Protein: Serves as a source of energy, builds/repair muscle tissues.
- Potassium: Helps maintain a healthy blood pressure.
- Phosphorus: Aids in strengthening bones and generate energy.
- Vitamin D: Held maintain bones.
- Vitamin B12: Maintains healthy red blood cells and nerve tissue.
- Vitamin A: Maintains the immune system, helps maintain normal vision and skin.
- Riboflavin (B2): Converts food into energy.
- Niacin: Metabolizes sugars and fatty acids.
Milk
has much nutrition that you don't have to drink a gallon of it before you
benefit from its nutrition. The
National Diary Council says that just one 8 ounce glass of milk provides the
same amount of Vitamin D you would get from 3.5 ounces of cooked salmon, as much
calcium as 2 1/4 cups of broccoli, as much potassium as a small banana, as much
Vitamin A as two baby carrots and as much Phosphorus as a cup of kidney beans.
WHO SHOULD AVOID MILK?
According
to research, it is generally recommended that children, pregnant women, older
people and those who are unwell avoid unpasteurized milk and milk products.
Individuals who are allergic or intolerant to milk and dairy products may try
to avoid them. For such people, eating dairy products such as yoghurt in small
quantities may be helpful.

Products
from milk are called Diary Products and they are foods made from milk.
They
include: Butter, Cheese, Ice cream, Yoghurt, dried and condensed milk etc.
