Who knows the above fruit?
Growing up, I never knew its real name, and I kept calling it “shawashop” and I know some others may
have called it a worse name than me. So far, it is my best - though I’m a lover
of all types of fruit.

SOURSOP: Botanical name, Anona
muricata is a very nutritious and healthy fruit, always with this
sweet-sour taste that makes it outstanding and unique. As it is unique, so is
it loaded with more than enough healthy benefits and uses. The soft milky pulp
and fiber can be used for beverages, deserts, smoothies, (I love smoothies),
and candy as well as a wealth of traditional medicinal treatments that are used
in many parts of the world.
WHY SHOULD I CONSUME
SOURSOP?
Respiratory distress: if you suffer or struggle with a cold or cough or other form of
Respiratory ailment, then soursop's anti-inflammatories properties can help to
clear out your airways, relieve congestion and soothe irritation.
Sedation and Stress: It has been used as a stress relieving strategy for centuries. If
you are suffering from insomnia or restless sleep, soursop tea is a wise
choice.

Gastrointestinal health: Being rich in Vitamin C, soursop was used for many years as a

SOURSOP and it has been widely studied as an alternative cancer treatment.
These acetogenins are actually unique to the annonanaceae plant family, which is
what makes them so fascinating. They can apparently cut off flow to foreign or
abnormal cellular growths and have already been positively associated with
treating breast, pancreatic, prostrate and lung cancer.
NB: You don't have to wait until you develop an illness before you
heed to fruit and vegetable consumption.

SOURSOP JUICE RECIPE
Ingredients:
1 soursop fruit, peeled and cut into chunks.
1 1/2 cups milk, or to taste.
2 tablespoons white sugar or honey (preferably) to taste.
2 teaspoons vanilla extract.
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon.
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg.
Procedures
Wash the fruit and remove back.
Press soursop pieces through a fine-mesh strainer with the back of a
spoon or with washed hand into a bowl to remove the juice from the fruit.
Whisk milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg into soursop juice
until sugar is dissolved completely.
Pour punch into a pitcher and refrigerate until chilled, at least 30
minutes.
Serve chilled... It has this soothing and satisfying taste that will
make your day.
